CLASSICAL &
CONTEMPORARY BALLET
AGES 6+
Classical ballet, originating in the royal courts of Renaissance Italy and evolving in France and Russia, is known for its grace, precision, and structured movements. Influential works by Tchaikovsky and choreographers like Marius Petipa have defined its elegance. Contemporary ballet merges classical techniques with modern dance, offering more fluid and expressive movements, shaped by pioneers like George Balanchine and William Forsythe.
At the School of Dance, our mission is to help students grow as performing artists and dancers by embracing both classical and contemporary ballet without the pressures of competition. Our curriculum focuses on technical proficiency, artistic expression, and understanding the historical context of these dance genres. We provide a supportive environment for students to explore their passion for ballet, learning from its rich history while engaging with contemporary innovations, ensuring a well-rounded and immersive artistic journey.
